Members of PROS, CRIS and the OKCGC investigated the Old Towne Emporium at 105 W. Oklahoma Ave. in Guthrie Oklahoma on Feb 16 2007. Lisa had heard from other merchants that the owners of the building were experiencing paranormal activity at this location in Guthrie. The building was built in 1901 and was originally known as the Spurlock building. It was also the site of the JC Penney store in the downtown area and still has the name embedded in the tile out front. A preliminary investigation was performed a few days before the investigation and Lisa immediately sensed activity in the upstairs mezzanine area. She audibly heard an angry male voice speak into her ear. Teresa and Ed had experienced apparition sightings of a female patron in the downstairs area on the west side of the building. They also said that "a gray ghost cat" was seen on occasion playing with their cat and then would disappear through a wall. Ed and Teresa's daughter also experienced terrifying episodes when she would get locked in the storage room in the
back. She also stated that she was constantly harassed by a male presence upstairs.
The team arrived at 8:00 PM and immediately David of OKCGC spotted flying orbs in his video cam with night shots. Dizzy began to take still shots and set up video. Lisa ran about ten minutes of audio and noted the male "non local" being in the upstairs area was very angry and had a few choice words to say. Sherri and Emily of CRIS arrived shortly after and Emily began to take photos while Sherri monitored the IR thermometer. Emily captured an apparition photo of a man sitting on the stairs which is posted below. We highlighted the image in red of the male sitting at the top of the stairs. Lisa also captured an apparition of a female hovering above Ron [above] in the basement. Several of the EVP collected indicated that these non local beings knew we were trying to interact and were caught making statements to this effect. Lisa has been working with EVP technology for quite some time and often interacts with these beings. Listen to some of the remarks below for this interaction -- it's fascinating.
