 Bison Theater, Shawnee OK
Olde Wishing Well Antiques

The CRIS Group investigated the Old Wishing Well Antique Mall on August 11, 2007. This is the original location of the old Bison Theater. The theater was built in the early 1900's and court records show that a robbery occurred at the ticket booth in 1930. There is also a story of a murder that was committed out side of the theater in 1930. According to local legend a man dressed as a robber for a play at the theatre was gunned down behind the theatre when he was mistaken for a real robber by the local Sheriff. Thus far, we have not been able to verify this story but Jack one of the employees of the theatre is fairly sure this actually happened. Underneath the theatre is a large basement that housed a local bar aptly called "the Cave' in the 1970's.

Our clients had heard about our paranormal group and met Lisa at a speaking engagement during a local Psychic Fair. Kristi works at the antique store and reported several paranormal events. She and others have had apparition sightings and footsteps are heard coming up the stairs when no one else was in the building. The CRIS Group captured numerous anomalies in photos, video and on audio during our investigation. Listen to some of the EVP from this investigation posted to the right. Dizzy and Lisa went back to the theatre on September 1, to take more photos due to a lost camera from the original investigation. If anyone in Shawnee or Oklahoma City found this HP Digital camera please give us a call. We have put together a new video featuring this site ! Click here to watch the ten minute mini documentary. If your group would like to tour this location please contact  Lisa at longshortrose@aol.com or call 405-521-1010

The Cave under ground bar from the 1970's
The photo above was taken in the basement area by Emily. According to Jack this area was a hip underground bar in the 1970's. The photo to the right is the " Old Wishing Well ". Before the site was an Antique Mall the building was a Spritualists Church and this was where the faithful were baptised.
The first EVP was collected in the bathroom area downstairs in the Antique Mall. As usual one of the non local voices has some choice words for Lisa. You will hear Lisa say " I'm walking into the bathroom "  then a male voice says eerily " I told the others/Lisa?  I'd kill her "  [class B]

In the next clip you will hear a male voice complaining " I'm telling ya your extra bumped me "  [class C] This is interesting because the theater was originally used for live performances and an "extra" would be a term used in the theater. This may very well be residual energy left over from the Vaudeville days.

The third clip was recorded directly under the dome of the theater you will hear Lisa say " if there is a presence in this building I want you to come into the space where I am standing right now "  there is a short pause and then you hear what sounds like a Southern Gentleman say " I'm right here Darlin' " [class A] we have amplified the EVP slightly when the kind man starts to speak.
